A welcome

Dear friends, globe trotters, sponsors,

We made up the Internet site in order to present you our journey and so that you can follow our project: “The crazy bikers”!

We want to leave Belgium by bike and get to Kathmandu in Nepal. Therefore, we will pass through the following countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgary, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazahkstan, Kyrgysztan, China, India and finally, Kathmandu in Nepal.

Why are we planning this trip? Well, both of us have fallen in love with Asia and its Indian sub-continent. I (Annaik) already went for a trekking in the Himalaya (walking in the mountains) and I really wanted to return. Through my passion for India, I gave Corentin the wish to discover this region with its splendid landscapes, its population and its culture.

Most of the journey will be done by bike, except of:
- the Caspian sea: we’ll take the boat
- Kazakhstan: we’ll take the train, as the roads aren’t in good status.

For geopolitical reasons, it is possible that the lack of security forces us to take a local transport (train, bus). However, we will try to reduce this as much as possible, in order to preserve the “discovering” character of our journey. Going by bike is, according to us, the best way to discover the landscapes and the population.
